Join me for a relaxed weekend of sketching in my hometown of St Neots, Huntingdonshire—a charming riverside market town with beautiful riverside views, lovely cafes, and quiet corners that are perfect for capturing on paper. As a local, I’ll guide you to all the best hidden spots that most people miss. From peaceful riverbanks, old churches and street corners, this is a place I know like the back of my sketchbook. Getting here is easy—just a short drive from Cambridge or a direct train from London St Pancras/Kings Cross. Want to make a weekend of it? Why not pair this with the Cambridge sketching day happening just after—it’s the perfect creative double-bill.
Spend a day sketching in the heart of Cambridge—a city full of inspiring views, rich history, and atmospheric streets. From college courtyards to riverside scenes, this is a place that invites you to slow down and sketch what you see. We’ll explore the city centre with pens and watercolours in hand, capturing the life and architecture that make Cambridge so unique. Expect a friendly, relaxed pace and plenty of support, whether you're experienced or just starting out. Getting here is simple—Cambridge is well connected by train (direct from Kings Cross) and road, and everything we’ll sketch is within easy walking distance once we arrive. Just done the St Neots weekend? This is a great follow-on session—or come for the day and get a fresh creative boost in beautiful surroundings.
Join me for a peaceful day of sketching in the picturesque Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water—a place I return to again and again for its timeless charm and beautiful sketching spots. With its stone bridges, winding river, and golden buildings, Bourton is like stepping into a postcard. We’ll wander, sketch, and soak it all in—no rush, no pressure, just a day of relaxed creativity. It’s easy to reach by car and well worth the journey if you’re craving a change of scenery and a fresh page in your sketchbook. And if you fancy sketching in Cheltenham, it's just a short drive away so you could combine the two events!
I grew up in Cheltenham, so running a sketching day here is a bit special. This elegant Regency town has wide tree-lined streets, sweeping terraces, and a sense of calm that makes it a joy to sketch. We’ll explore the town centre and nearby parks with pens and paints in hand, pausing to draw the details that catch your eye. Whether it’s your first time or a place you know well, you’ll see it differently after a day spent sketching. Cheltenham is easily accessible by train (from Bristol or Birmingham) or car, and everything we need is a short walk away. It's just down the road from Bourton-on-the-Water so... you could even join that event too and make a weekend of it!
